Our Origin Story
It all started with a bartender at the Fern, ( a popular watering hole in Nevada City ) On a cold drizzly night, at 1 am, suggesting i put a poster in the restrooms.
What we came to realize, without a Taxi company to get you home, ( Fast Taxi closed there doors at the end of 2024 ) Uber drivers, with the best of intentions, all go home when work slows down, not realizing, all the other drivers went home too.
So with the risk of not getting an Uber that late, no one was even using Uber any more to get around.
So after a month of people seeing the poster as they wash there hands, started to use Uber again to go out and reliably get back home.
So today, Uber is back… but only because a few of us are consistently staying within 20 minutes of Grass Valley, 7 days a week, for the last 5 months, driving when half the time your driving back to town with out a pasenger, under the same conditions the Taxi companies are closing there doors.
Time for the drivers to take home more than 25%
As an Uber or Lift driver that stays with in a 20 minute drive of Grass Valley, They take 45% of the fair.
The cost of Fuel, Vehicle depreciation, Interest on the Loan and Maintenance and Repairs is also about 35%
Leaving the driver 25%
Driving using the HUM commercial liability insurance, City, County and State road permits and tax management app, represents less than 5% of a drivers monthly expenses.
Leaving the driver with 70%
All we need is a way to Conect passengers to local independent drivers.
